This April Staffordshire based success story celebrates the advancement of one of its founding members Harjot Bhullar to the position of Director. Addfield Projects Ltd specialises in advanced thermal treatment systems that are fully designed and manufactured from their headquarters in Burntwood, Staffordshire, England, before being shipped around the globe to provide essential solutions to sustainably counter the growing issues of complex waste management.

Marking the culmination of incredible growth of the company in the past 5 years alongside the continued success of sister company Addfield Environmental Systems Ltd where this all began 9 years ago when Harjot joined the team in 2016 as a Design Engineer fresh out of university.

Harjot has been a key member of the business beginning with building up the original technical department due to the increase in specialised facilities being developed. Beginning with the multi million pound high-capacity waste-to-energy facility for the NHS New Cross Hospital. From there, Harjot oversaw several highly complex specialised waste management solutions under the banner of Addfield Environmental Systems. Following the continued growth of that division the decision to branch out and form Addfield Projects as a separate limited company was made. Dedicated to purely developing the most sustainable approaches to safely disposing of often highly specialised waste streams, where each facility is unique Harjot led the way building an expert team around himself at Addfield Projects. Incorporating a diverse team from across the UK all experts in their industries and all working under his guidance to ensure Addfield Projects sticks to the Addfield mantra of being ‘Simply Built Better’.

“Becoming Director of Addfield Projects is a proud personal milestone. I started as a Design Engineer straight out of university in 2016 and have evolved alongside the business since. I’ve had the opportunity to lead in design, project delivery, operations and now I’m able to help shape the future of Addfield Projects at a strategic level. My experience throughout the business gives me a unique perspective to reach new limits.

When I joined, we were a much smaller operation but was given the opportunity to grow the design team from the ground up and deliver our first large-scale projects. We now operate on a truly global scale, and I take pride in knowing that I’ve played a key role in building the systems and teams that got us here.

Stepping into this director role isn’t just about continuing what we’ve built; but rather raising the bar. With the diverse expertise we have within our team, there is a real opportunity to expand into new sectors and industries. My vision is to make Addfield the go to name for bespoke environmental solutions around the world. Whether delivering a solution to treat toxic Coppermine waste in Papua New Guinea or developing a cleaner way to manage municipal waste for the Falkland Islands every facility that Projects has in production is under the watchful eye of Harjot and his team.
